Promised Neverland - AP Art Piece #3 (Fan Art)

Third piece I've done (2020) for AP Art following my concentration study theme of animals through the media. Each piece references a different movie, show, comic, etc. through animal representation. At the time of doing this I was going through an art block but pushed through.

This was originally sketched and lined on my iPhone SE before being transferred to my computer for coloring using a Gaomon MK2018 tablet. Several layers were used to achieve lighting and color, starting with flat unshaded colors and moving to adding the lights and darks. The owl’s wing alone took over half an hour of detailing each line by hand. The owl itself was made using an image reference which was modified to match the image in my head. This piece is filled with several easter eggs from the manga and anime it references.
